Identifying Air Leakage with a Blower Door

Many air leaks are hidden behind walls, ceilings, and floors and can’t be found by sight alone. A blower door test allows us to measure how much air is leaking from your home and pinpoint exactly where those leaks are occurring.

When paired with thermal imaging, this diagnostic testing reveals problem areas that would otherwise go unnoticed. By identifying the most impactful leakage points, we can target air sealing where it matters most—making the process more effective, efficient, and results-driven.

• Attic Air Sealing: Since heat rises, Air-Sealing the attic is the first place we start. We target holes and penetrations in the ceiling, attic-access, lighting fixtures, fans, plumbing bypasses, wiring, and chimney chases. All of FLC Energy’s work is verified with a post-work Blower Door test.

• Basement Air Sealing: Basements can be a major source of outside air infiltrating your home. We focus on sealing rim joists (band boards), foundation walls and sill-plates to create a basement that keeps your home warm, dry and comfortable. We also seal the floor of your home to stop harmful air in this area from contaminating your living space.
